The philosophy behind the 16 Personalities test has a more classic history, dating back to the four temperaments (sanguine, choleric, melancholic and phlegmatic). While they have changed in various ways over the years, the same basic principles can and have been used to predict how each personality type will act in certain situations, with high accuracy.
